Episode 6 - Massive Attack - Protection
Listen now
Description
The difficult second album, it's a cliché of the music industry, everything's just a rehash of a band's debut work, only the ideas aren't as inventive, the sound not as unique. It's episode 6 of Remember The First Time and we're exploring Massive Attack's second album, Protection. One thing we can definitely say is that it's far from difficult! Paul, Mark and Charlotte discuss a band exploring their sound and reinventing who they are sonically and artistically. Plus Jessica Joy (officially a friend of the Podcast now) returns to discuss her time working in record shops and DJing in Bristol during the 90's, as well as helping Jungle legends get to grips with 45rpm! Also, after Mark's enthusiasm for the quiz in the last episode, Charlotte brings her own unique questions to this month's quizzy business, and we decide which track from Protection goes on the playlist! Finally, where does the album rank in the Remember The First Time chart? You'll have to listen obviously, we're not going to tell you here, we're too sly! ***Please take the time to rate and review us on Apple Podcasts or wherever you listen to this show.
