Another echo chamber for pro Depp rabid fans
Shameful to see how even a podcast that set out to try and be balanced, gradually ended up regurgitating the most trite and vile messages of the pro-Depp social media campaign. Only Depp’s fans were interviewed on the verdict. There’s no challenging of highly problematic tropes (I.e. manipulative female!). No mention of the incongruences of the verdict or the loud and informed critiques raised by experts on DV about the implications for victims of abuse. No acknowledgement that there is another legal truth, for which JD is a wife-beater and AH a victim of abuse, and that remains valid despite this verdict. I still think the podcast has great merit, not as a piece of journalism but as a sort of social experiment showing the effects of living inside the echo chamber that was the social media and US mainstream media coverage of this case.

More reviews of Reporting: Depp v Heard
As a JD fan for years I needed an unbiased view to offset my own bias. I think Nick delivers this well and enables some great impartial thinking. Thank you for bringing some sense of balance…I try only to listen to this for my update.
