Truly profound
Any words that I could use to describe this podcast will fall short. I hate to describe one podcast in light of another. I hope Dane Stewart understands that I’m not trying to diminish his creative work by drawing this comparison). But I make the comparison because heard about Resurrection last week while listening to another podcast: the ad described it as similar to S-town (I’ve been looking for a podcast that I would like as much as S-town since I listened to it, and everything has fallen short). But Resurrection lives up to the comparison (and I suspect there are a lot of people out there like me who will listen to this podcast based on the comparison. You’re welcome, future fans of Resurrection). Of course, it is worth listening to this podcast in and of itself. The story is so beautifully recounted, we get these intimate glimpses into other people in other times but also into ourselves. In the recounting, Darrell and Dane and Janet slowly bring to light parts of yourself that you might not have known existed. And then just when you think the podcast has given you everything it should, the penultimate episode invites you into the fictional world of one of Darrell’s plays about Vietnam. And the final monologue in episode 7 is life changing. I’ll leave it at that.

This is so beautiful. Beautiful doesn’t begin to express it. You gotta give this a listen

I can’t wait to hear the story unfold. The first episode had me hooked. The story being told is touching, interesting, and may be from the 70/80s but feels as fresh as if it were from today.

Just listened to the first episode and I can’t wait to hear it all! The subject is intricate, touching, personal and political all at the same time. Love the narration and the editing style. Thank you for all the work you’ve put into making this story come to light!
