The last night that we were in Tasmania for school holidays, I started to have this bingey feeling.  I just wanted to get food in.  I had about 5 chocolates, 2 glasses of wine that I guzzled and half an icecream over a short period of time.   I recognised that old feeling of just wanting to shovell anything into my mouth. During it, I didn’t use any of my tools. Afterwards, I didn’t use any of my tools. I basically went to bed feeling pretty crappy and beating myself up - I know better...

Psychology 101 tells us our thoughts leads to our feelings, our feelings lead to our behaviour.  We have a thought that we are a failure with our eating/weight > this leads to a feeling of feeling helpless, ashamed or disappointed > behav - lead to more eating. We get stuck in a v1.0 cycle.  Same thinking gets the same results.  V2.0 thinking can get v2.0 outcomes, because when we choose an empowering thought we feel more empowered and we typically make empowered choices with our...

Most of us have a default mode of doing. We are very proficient at doing.  Doing mode is about being busy, to do lists, the strategy is to control.  We know we are doing when our awareness is in our head.    We are either doing, or being. They are mutually exclusive.  We can not be and do at the same time. When we experience cravings, our awareness is in our head.  When we are ‘doing’ we are also in our head - we are more susceptible to sabotaging ourselves, giving into our cravings - that...

I see so many WLS patients who still have the old, pre-surgery self worth - the surgery itself does not upgrade your self worth.  Then many WLS patients have their self worth tied up in their weight and appearance.  "If I get to goal weight, then I’ll feel good about myself.  If I am not losing weight or I’ve gained weight then I don’t feel good about myself." This is like being on a roller coaster - ups and downs. Stressful way to live your life and disempowering. Find out the #1 question to...

Have you ever committed to something that you know would really help you, and then you’ve taken no action? It got me thinking about procrastination as a form of sabotage and I thought it would be great to explore this on the podcast as I think this can be a common block for many listeners.  We know that Sabotage is sneaky. It happens at the subconscious level.    Sabotage looks like resistance. We can’t seem to get started, or we get started and we stop. Listen to learn more!

This last weekend I was at a professional development course and was paired up with a buddy who wanted to work on her weight regain.  She lost 60kg a few years ago and started to receive male attention, and whilst part of her enjoyed it, another part of her felt overwhelmed and she didn't know what to do with this new attention.  This was an identity issue.   Listen to this episode if you want to change your eating and weight, but you're repeating the same eating patterns each day.
