With minor stops at Virginia Military Institute and Independence Community College coming out of John Champe High School in Virginia, University of Cal linebacker Kuony Deng experienced a breakout year in his first season for the Golden Bears. A former three sport star, Deng began his career at VMI suiting up both on the gridion and hardwood. Now focusing solely on football, Deng has morphed his lanking frame into a 6-6 245 pound wrecking ball who could be the best off ball linebacker in the Pac 12 in 2020.
