Dozens of tents were erected just across from the campus student union on May 1st and the area barricaded by benches and tables. Young people wearing masks and keffiyahs sat and prayed, studied, quietly conversed, participated in group activities or staffed tents dedicated to food and medical aid. Members of the community who were not enrolled at the school also showed up to support.
