I really want to love this podcast...
But I can’t quite give it the full five stars. Let me explain before I ruffle any feathers. I listen to a lot of different Bachelor podcasts and I have a couple that are my hand down favorites. I really wish I could say this podcast was also in that top ranking. I love the easy banter between the hosts, the “back at the house/mansion” 90’s sitcom music, and the power rankings are some of the reasons I like it. But I really really wish you guys would do a little more research into the “facts” you’re giving on the show so I wouldn’t be pounding on my steering wheel in frustration at times. I decided to give the show another go and listened to Peter’s episode 1 recap and while there were some minor inaccuracies (hairless cats are an actual breed of cat, so Katrina didn’t “do” anything recently to make it hairless; they don’t start filming The Bachelor right after The Bachelorette’s AFR because they still have Paradise to air and it’s not until September, during the “Bachelor offseason,” in which filming for the Bachelor starts etc.). But there are way more egregious errors; such as, saying in Peter’s night one recap that the Bachelors have a history of choosing the first impression rose recipient as the winner at the end! Even if you didn’t already know, a quick google search would tell you that it’s the exact opposite: it’s the Bachelorettes who have a high success rate at ending up with the first impression rose winner (Hannah broke a long streak), whereas the Bachelors notoriously do NOT choose the winner. In fact, the only Bachelor to ever end up with the first impression rose recipient is Sean Lowe, and that hardly counts as he gave out something like 12 first impression roses on night 1. I’m sure some people are probably thinking “why is this girl getting so worked up about this?” and I get it. It’s just that I really want to love this podcast and I know I would if there was just a little more research done before each episode. I did love your take on Hannah Brown’s “maybe” being edited in since we never saw her actually say it. Not many recappers catch details like that! Another note on that moment: notice how Peter goes from looking at her intently as he asks her to stay in the house, then cut to him having to turn around to see her as she says “maybe.” There was definitely some splicing done there, and perhaps some frankenbiting? Hopefully this review will be taken as the constructive criticism I meant it to be and not as me bashing the show or the hosts (who really are delightful).

Rim and AB, this is my first and last review to ever go down on itunes. I'm pretty sure I look forward to your podcast's take on the Bachelor more than the show itself-- Thanks for keeping me convulsing with laughter on the subway in the morningsRead full review »
