Rubirosa: Dominicano, like me!
I learned about Porfirio Rubirosa through family tales. It’s rumored that he often stayed in Trujillo’s mansion in San Jose de las Matas, a province outside of Santiago, Dominican Republic, where my parents are from. Like Christopher, I’m obsessed with Rubi and have done extensive research. I always wanted to tell his story because it represents time in Dominican history we don’t hear much about. We know all about Trujillo and his malice, but not about a man who rolled in the same circles as the Rat Pack. A Dominicano who was perhaps the most admired man - for good and bad reasons - in the world. A Dominicano, like me. Big ups to Mr. Rivas for putting this out in the world. I’m through episode one and loving it! Can’t wait to keep listening.

More reviews of Brown Enough
The weave of personal and Rubi’s story got me reflecting deeply. As the show has evolved to Brown Enough, I’m eager to keep learning, and healing, about Brownness in our white-centered world. Highly recommend! Awesome work Chris! 🙌🏽
