“I stumbled upon this podcast last week in preparation for my first Boston marathon. I am a seasoned runner and have run 27 marathons, including at least one on all 7 continents (yes, even Antarctica) and 5 Abbott World Marathon Majors, but I am already learning so much from Lisa and Julie. I enjoyed the episode with the physical therapist and especially the advice of not running as many days for those 50 and older. I’m not there yet, but it’s approaching. I have had overuse injuries and hurt my Achilles while training for London, so I backed off to running 3 days a week and allowing 2 days of recovery after a long run before running again. It seems to be working for me, as I ran the Tokyo marathon a few weeks ago in a pretty good time for me. I enjoyed the episode with Cherie and will start listening to her podcast on women’s stories. Finally, I loved the mile by mile breakdown of the Boston marathon episode. I feel mentally prepared after listening to it. Boston will be my 6th AWMM, so I look forward to crossing the finish line and earning my 6th star. Thanks for all the fantastic advice!”
