Good but is this really surprising
I’m only two episodes in and find this very entertaining. My only question is why the podcaster is surprised that a show expressly stated to be from the police point of view shows the police in a good light. Of course it’s going to slant things in the police’s favor but when it gets right down to it every documentary, investigative report and “reality” show has a point of view. As long as the viewers understand this, and frankly a show named “Cops” is a bit obviously going to show the good side of policing, then there is no issue.

More reviews of Headlong: Running from COPS
This is a masterfully constructed podcast. The evident care and critical thought that went into this reporting is pretty staggering. Very highly recommended for anyone who loves great, thoughtful work!

Ya
Super interesting. A topic I had never considered much but as someone who has incidentally seen many episodes of COPS like most Americans, listening to this has been enthralling.

I didn’t know the world needed this but it does. I grew up loving to watch COPS on Saturday night, and now I feel conflicted when I see it. I’m glad this podcast delves deep into the behind the scenes questions I’ve always had, and those I never thought to ask.
