Craig Dack - Part 2
Listen now
Description
After winning numerous titles in Australia, conquering New Zealand, and proudly wearing the green and gold while racing overseas, Dacka decided to stop competing in the early '90s to start his own team. This venture has enjoyed just as much success and continues to thrive. Managing his own deals as a rider helped him navigate the corporate sponsorship landscape. The depth and strength of these relationships led CDR to celebrate a 30-year milestone with Yamaha in 2023. Decades-long partnerships like this are incredibly rare in the world of sport today. We also discuss his time working with a young and fiercely determined Chad Reed when he took on the US, developing people management skills for young riders with differing personalities, and the changes he's witnessed through the eras. Dack realized early on that he didn't want to turn them into carbon copies. Additionally, we touch on some special bikes he's kept along the way that bookend his riding career and his thoughts on the future.
