EP-84 Sawyer and Simon Balint - Sailing Across the Atlantic Part 1
Listen now
Description
In this episode of the podcast, Bela Musits interviews Simon and Sawyer, a father and son team, who will be sailing across the Atlantic for the first time.  They will also be joined by Simon’s dad for the trip, so it will be three generations crossing the Atlantic.  Simon and Sawyer were on the podcast back in EP-29.  Now they are prepping to cross the Atlantic in their Passport 40 sailboat.  We discussed all of the various elements of planning such a trip.  Most people tend to focus on preparing the boat, which we covered in detail.  We also discussed making sure the crew is ready for such a trip. This is a longer episode, so we will break this interview into two parts, this one - Episode 84, and Part 2, which you will be able to find as Episode 85.   If you would like to support the podcast, we now have a Patreon page.  Just go to Patreon.com/sailingtheeast.   Our podcast is now also available on YouTube, just search for “Sailing the East” https://www.youtube.com/@sailingandcruisingtheeast We love to hear from you, our listeners, send us your questions, comments, and suggestions at [email protected].  If you know someone that would be an interesting guest on the show, please reach out to us and let us know—wishing you fair winds, and calm seas.
