Forced, cringy scripted banter muddies storytelling
I gave the first two episodes a listen. The POV of one host informing the other is clearly scripted and poorly performed. Maybe later in the series they drop that gimmick. Just take turns telling the story and inform us. Or don’t script it and have genuine conversation.

The vocal frye in the hosts voice is too much for me to handle. Cannot understand why anyone thinks this is pleasing to the ear. It is not. And I cannot.

I find the subject matter intriguing, but the delivery is so overly scripted/forced, I can’t stick with it. It’s very much a Crime Junkie vibe, with awkward “banter.” There are several other much better podcasts out there about scams.

The content is interesting but the editorializing from the hosts and the nonstop vocal fry make this hard to listen to. Seriously, even Who Are These Podcasts doesn’t have this much vocal fry and they’re deliberately presenting examples to mock.
