Not really about the books!
The episodes consistently feel less about the books and more about the host’s personal interests, with books as framing devices. The Tarantino episode made this really clear. I am not sure why, if he and his guest were struggling to talk about the book because of a lack of base knowledge on the subject, they wouldn’t watch one of the movies that Tarantino discusses in the episode. The podcast is interesting if you are interested in the host’s adjacent thoughts on whatever the book is about, but if you’re interested in the books, how they are written, what is successful or not, just read the books.

More reviews of Schizophrenic Reads
This podcast is so inviting and a perfect environment for talking about complex issues in our world today through non-fiction literature. I can’t wait to keep listening.
