“I have recently & belatedly started listening to these "reviews" of TV shows & movies. Maybe because of my age and or long-term TV & historical, etc. knowledge, I find these often approaching a vacuous content. It's like a stream of consciousness discussion with minimum knowledge imparted. Perhaps they would STRONGLY benefit from a re-watch with a notepad. (To be fair some other similar shows are MUCH worse - I believe SCIFI Watcher is poor too because it foolishly seems proud that it does some podcasts within a hour or so of watching & they shoot from the hip often with silly commentary.)
I just finished #159: Shield & Sleepy Hollow. To their credit, 2 of 3 recognized that Sleepy Hollow was a sheer surprise & actually mentioned "suspension of disbelief" as a required element. I believe the naysayer incorrectly predicted its cancellation. And their discussion of historical perspective was pathetic for the most part. If the minimal preparation & sometimes immature approach to giving their (too personal: I don't like so & so - person, genre, precious role, or such) opinion is a helpful time passer for you, enjoy. I just think it deserves maybe half the time allotted to their individual podcasts.
Perhaps watch this for a movie review (after viewing the movie, or as prep to see if one should waste the time/money), could be more helpful as movies are self-contained viewing experiences). But these TV reviews are not that important &, because they are continuing hour-long stories, are more susceptible to the hosts' foolish predictive wonderings/ramblings which approach being valueless.”
