“Good production quality cannot replace the fact that this was more than a retelling. What the writers did was anchor to a few hard points in the original timeline and take great liberties in between. This is not for anyone who has read Dickens A Christmas Carol more than once and is familiar with the storyline. This is a complete rewrite with entirely new scenes made from scratch. I couldn’t recommend this podcast to a serious book reader. In all the time devoted to this retelling, the listener could have read the original book outright.”
