“Hello fan of the show!
I can’t help but think today was a huge missed opportunity to have an honest conversation about the effects of drug use in Seattle. After the story about the passage of the city Council Bill, the very next story was about the effects of legalized drug use and the effects on the tourism industry in Portland. I think it’s only fair to ask if the policies (although not the same) could lead to the same outcomes for Seattle. Unfortunately it became a big brother vs little brother joke fest about who gets better concerts. Considering the time and resources that we all are collectively funding in our region to help people out I think we need to also ask ourselves if the policies are actually effective. Is the current state of Portland a canary in the coal mine?”
