Great history, bad politics
90% of the series is great, but then he includes comments like “pasty white faces” and “26 rich white guys in a room.” As a former academic, I left the ivory tower because of crap like this. If you’re an historian, stick to history. It’s fine to draw parallels to today, but “perish the thought” of Mitt Romney being a republican candidate, really? This podcast came highly recommended as “Dan Carlin-Esque.” It is not.

This was one of my favorite podcast discoveries and it is an absolute delight! It is a great podcast for both history buffs and those even mildly curious and the podcast discusses the crucial second decade of the 19th century with a wide array of topics being covered in that range.
