Binged over 6 months
I was introduced to Secret Feminist Agenda through a podcasting course and listened to it from start to finish over the span of about 6 months. I am someone who struggles with both feeling like a failure for not getting an academic position after my PhD, but am also not really sure if I would even want such a position after seeing first-hand the absolute meatgrinder of hopes and dreams that is the business of higher education. This podcast was a boon to my spirit for helping to reassure me of how reactionary academia actually is (stopping me from gaslighting myself, as Dr. McGregor says), but also how revolutionary it could be. That I was right to question what I was taught about “the life of the mind.” That there is, I hope, a future in asking the kinds of questions that this podcast asks. In asking them in public spaces, and maybe, even, dare I hope, in asking them in universities as well. Thank you for what you have put into the world.
