“Well, I started listening and now I can’t stop. The narrator Bet is navigating a newly closed off world where complicated familial relationships get complicated-er, and the community they seek speaks a whole different language.
Bet copes with my favorite mechanism, humor, and I’m finding myself laughing out loud when I’m all alone. Bet also absolutely eviscerates rude/creepy men and it’s a delight to listen to the sharp takedowns ✨
The sound design is absolute ear-candy and beautifully highlights some of the struggles that Bet faces as they walk through a regular day. I’m so excited to learn more about Bet, but also about deafness and a perspective that I’m unfamiliar with.
