“There’s very little in these podcasts that recognizes that women and LGBTQ people can be sexually addicted. A couple of podcasts focus on the female sex addict with a “SHOCKED” tone, as if it’s stunning news that women could have problems with sexual compulsion. Once in a while the host will add “or she/her” as an afterthought to a comments. I listened to this for several years before realizing that it only reinforced the stigma of being a female sex addict. However, if you’re a straight man or the partner of one, you’ll find a lot of compassionate and informative material here.”
