So good Update: Cam girl episodes are… idk
Hilarious! Update: Listening to the cam girl named Violet episodes and, as a semi-former cam girl, I’ve been bracing myself the entire time in fear of Sherlock and Watson doing/saying something problematic. And idk. While nothing HORRIBLY problematic has been said, there’s been some slightly bad things I’ve picked up on. Mostly stuff on the lines of Violet (the cam girl) being dumb / making bad choices. Imo s-x workers are a vital element of the economy and should be respected. So I took off one star. I know it’s hard to toe the line when discussing issues like these, so I tend to prefer only hearing stories about cam girls that are WRITTEN by cam girls. Also there’s just not enough dialogue underscoring just how absolutely repugnant the abusers are in this series of episodes. ***SPOILER ALERT*** Also when Marta says (something like) “I hate to say it, but… that sounds like a pretty toxic relationship” after Watson finds out that Violet’s fiance was slipping Violet daily birth control pills under the guise of “doting on her hand and foot”…and THEN roofied her to gaslight her into thinking she was date r*ped disguise a medication-assisted-abortion after he forgot to slip her the pill a couple times … WHY DOES MARTA “hate to say it”? ITS OBVIOUSLY a horribly, evil toxic, abusive “relationship”. Idk, the tone is just so lackadaisical when referring to some truly hideous, disgusting, lowest of the low, evil actions. Is the writer of this podcast so lackadaisical about it because the character is “just” a s*x worker? Idk. I really loved this podcast but I think that’s it for me. Maybe I’m just triggered and being too harsh. So that’s why I only took off one star. Anyway, bye, it’s been fun while it’s lasted.

First episode effectively situates the retelling into the present day. Holmes’s unpalatable idiosyncrasies amusingly brought to the fore, with a delay before the genius is shown. Feels that both Watson and the listener will have U turns on any doubts about the flatmate and show respectively. Any...Read full review »
