“There’s a huge blind spot in this series in ignoring why Israel became the high security state it is and incubator for such projects as Pegasus. It lies in its need to continually oppress and surveil Palestinians. You can’t claim to care about press freedom or safety of those fighting injustice if you ignore this very glaring fact. This omission feels calculated and avoidant, especially against the backdrop of including Israeli voices but not those of Palestinians in the region who are constantly denigrated and used as lab rats for these projects.”
