The great Mansell F1 years
Listen now
Description
In this first episode of a new series, we are delighted to be joined by David Brown,  Nigel Mansell's Race Engineer throughout Nigel's race- and championship-winning years at Williams.  Based now in the US, where he is in charge of Porsche North America GT3 and GT4 on-track performance, David talks to Peter about his early days at Williams; winning with Nigel and the FW10B-Honda; the Golden Years of 1986-87, when the Williams FW11 and FW11B-Hondas were producing over 1100bhp; and about the 1991-92 seasons, when the Patrick Head-Adrian Newey Williams FW14 and FW14B-Renaults were the class of the F1 field.  As Peter was also the Williams team manager at this time, our chat with David naturally includes lots of laughs about shared incidents and timeless memories.
