Funny, earnest, excellent production
I’ve never played tabletop RPGs and this has been an excellent way to get into that whole franchise. The mechanics are there but since they’re taking place in familiar pop culture settings, it’s easy for someone who isn’t well versed in Dungeons & Dragons to quickly get the jist. The voice acting is not only earnest and entertaining but very effective and committed. The stellar improv creates several memorable and quotable moments. Tom does an excellent job at world building and creating characters that extend far beyond mere props. They’re fully realized, well rounded, and excellently voiced. The plot is engaging and the group dynamic is perfect and I have cycled through the available episodes several times. It’s rare that you get a glimpse into a project that not only is entertaining but also is indicative of how well the team functions together. Their passion, joy and dedication is very apparent and it makes the listening experience all the more enjoyable.
