Description
Eisuke Yanagisawa ,

These recordings were made in October 2023 at Higashi Honganji Temple in Kyoto, Japan, by two gardeners pruning pine trees. They include the cracking sound of a pine tree being cut with scissors and the fluttering sound of pine leaves falling and hitting a metal stepladder. The third recording is the sound of leaves being gathered with a bamboo broom. These recordings were made possible with the cooperation of Ueyakato Landscape Co.
Eisuke Yanagisawa is a sound artist, a field recordist, an ethnographer, a film-maker based in Kyoto, who wrote the first book in Japan about Field Recording.
