“The interviews can be echo chambers in which the problems of the world (ie. Sino-China relations) can be solved just by providing Xi Jingping the space to make China great again, at the expense of East Asia and global norms of behaviour. The speakers do use CCP talking points (esp what-about-ism) to justify Xi’s aggression abroad, suppression at home and bullying of smaller countries. It would help if Kaiser selected speakers from China’s neighbours- Japan, Singapore, Taiwan, Australia, the Philippines or India to challenge his views. I’d suggest Rory Medcalf, Ankit Panda or Marie-Ann Brady.”
