Absolutely amazing show for kids, and enthusiasts of Russian and greater Slavic culture!
Slavic Fairy Tales is really just incredible. The stories are told with fervor, intensity - Rhea really delves into the role of the different characters, whether they be heroine, villain, or Baba Yaga! Perfect for kids, looking to fall asleep or listen to something interesting, or even to adults, looking to learn more about a new culture, in the spirit of open-mindedness (so important in these times...). The cultural context piece at the end of each episode is thorough and well-done; that’s where listeners can really learn about how each tale was received in the greater culture, how it manifests in art, opera, music, etc. Overall, I feel like, despite the niche topic, Rhea can appeal to just about anybody... 11/10 recommend!
