I’m Tom Clairmont and I’m going to dive into this topic that will hopefully stir the soul: Do you have a higher calling in life? Today, we'll explore the depths of this question and hopefully reveal how discovering your higher calling can transform your entrepreneurial journey. So, let's dive in! Have you ever felt a deep yearning within your heart, a sense that there's something more meaningful and purposeful you're meant to pursue? Well, my friend, you're not alone. Many of us experience a longing to connect with a higher calling—a purpose that goes beyond the normal day to day part of life. But what exactly is a higher calling? Now, I’m not going to get preachy here, but I’ve said this openly before that I’m a Christian and I take that seriously. It’s a way of life that’s engrained into who I am…and I know I’m not even close to being perfect…I’m not saying anything like that. But having a higher calling is having that sense of purpose that ignites your passion, aligns with your values, and contributes to the greater good. It's that inner voice nudging you to make a difference, to leave a lasting impact on the world around you. Do you know where I’m coming from? Anybody relating to this so far, just raise your hand. Ok.. great. I’ll keep going. Because there’s a difference between getting your message out into the world, through social media channels, or even traditional print versus starting a movement. And if you feel you have a higher calling then maybe starting a movement is really something that you should think about because a lot of people make their mark in society by going past getting their message out and having such an impact in their culture and throughout the world that their mission goes way beyond themselves. And they become a force for change. Now, getting your message out can make a real difference. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for it. But what we’re talking about here is, do you have a higher calling? Do you need to go beyond getting the message out? Look at some people that are part of our U. S. culture who really made a significant impact with their message and started a movement. · Martin Luther King Junior, leading advocate for racial equality. · Rosa Parks typically called the mother of the civil rights movement. · Susan B Anthony, tireless advocate for women’s suffrage. · Harriet Tubman, born into slavery, became in a prominent abolitionist and a conductor on the Underground Railroad. · Steve Jobs, we all know who he is. His name became synonymous with innovation and technical advancement. · Jeff Bazos-Founder of Amazon, · Elon Musk. Founder of Tesla, Spacex, Neuralink. · Richard Branson, founder of Virgin Group. · Henry Ford, founder of Ford Motor Company. · Sam Walton, founder of Walmart, · Ray Crock, visionary behind McDonald’s. The list goes on and on. Did these people know they were starting a movement when they started to get their message out. Who knows? Maybe they had a clue early on. But what’s in it for you to create a movement and to impact society in that way? Do you want to just get your name on the list with everybody else? Or do you want it to be bigger than you and to go beyond you? Your name on the list doesn’t matter, then. Because the goal is much higher. The impact is much deeper. And believe me, I’ve thought about these things as well. I proposed starting a movement to an organization in upstate NY recently. The same thing. Do they want to start a movement? The ripple effects could be huge across the country. Let me tell you folks with the way societal things are being turned upside down lately. We could use more movements. Not only in this country, but around the world. So how do you know if you
