“Eric - I want to commend you on your hi level of information that you provide in a world that is hard to define the truth. I own and operate a large family farm in the Midwest and benefit greatly from your guests as I live in a commodity driven income operation.I would like to disagree with Tom on his costs for solar and his grid analysis. I always figure that actual cost of projects completed are better than estimates shared in a presentation.
We have just completed 4 different solar projects on several of our high energy use farms a total of around 1,000 Kw. Our costs were subsidize around 50-60% to be able to have a good enough ROI to commit to the project. I am wondering how he gets to 1.3 cents unless that is mega project in 100% sun area. I would also like to temper his commentary on Ag production as we continue to shrink the carbon footprint every year. Thank you for your efforts
