This week's episode features Verna McFelin MNZM, founder and CEO of Pillars NZ.Pillars is an organisation that supports children with parents in prison, supporting them through the challenges that arise as a consequence and pairing children with mentors to guide and inspire them. Unfortunately Verna has first hand experience of what that is like, as her husband was arrested and sent to prison in 1983 when she had four young children. He was arrested at home in front of the family and the years that would follow would see Verna face some of the hardest challenges of her life. She speaks of her faith and relationship with God, and how her determination to help others has seen a silver lining shine in the face of dark times.
