A Gold Standard for Indie Artists
What can I say about this show? I guess that’s what I’m doing here, so let me begin. Song Surfing is my favorite podcast. John is truly cares about independent artists and gives them a platform to getting their music heard in a very entertaining fashion. Unlike most other forms like this, you can tell John takes the time to listen to the songs thoroughly and gives his honest opinion about the song. You can tell he loves music and loves supporting all the artists that he features. John is also a fantastic interviewer. His “With Friends” episodes really dig into the songwriting process with the artist and gives you a glimpse of what that artists are all about on top of featuring their music. I can’t recommend this show enough and you’ll be a better music fan for listening to it.

John does an excellent job varying which music he features, scouring the country and beyond to highlight regions, cities, and scenes that you may not be aware of. He’s a very genuine host that gives an honest take on the music.

as someone who really loves discovering new music, it’s hard to find new exciting stuff. when everything’s algorithmically generated to be “just for me,” it gets boring. anyways, smooth voice, smooth tunes, INCREDIBLE idea — it all comes together in this podcast. CHEFS KISS! cant wait for more
