Description
Key Glock, born Markeyvius LaShun Cathey on August 3, 1997, in South Memphis, Tennessee, is an American rapper and songwriter known for his gritty lyrics and Memphis sound. Raised primarily by his grandmother and aunt due to his mother's incarceration and an absent father, Glock faced challenges from a young age, including a charge of aggravated assault at 18. Despite these hardships, music provided a respite, with influences like Gucci Mane, Lil Wayne, and notably Three 6 Mafia, which he credits as his largest influence. Key Glock's career took off in 2017 with his mixtape "Glock Season," and he gained further recognition through his work with cousin and mentor, Young Dolph, on their collaborative albums "Dum and Dummer" and "Dum and Dummer 2." His debut studio album "Yellow Tape" and its sequel "Yellow Tape 2" solidified his presence in the rap scene. Key Glock's most recent album, "Glockoma 2," released in February 2023, continues to showcase his distinct style and dedication to his craft.
