Description
But who doesn't love a beagle? Shout out to Snoop. Every time we think of beagles, we picture them "pre-washing" the dishes when the dishwasher's open. It's an important job, better than Cascade! Today, We’re thrilled to have a fan crush moment with Shannon Keith, founder of the Beagle Freedom Project. Shannon, an attorney, award-winning filmmaker, and animal advocate, established the Beagle Freedom Project in 2010. Since then, they've rescued over 3,500 animals from labs where they were used for testing everything from floor cleaners to cosmetics and pharmaceuticals. These animals, often slated for euthanasia, now find loving homes thanks to Shannon's efforts. Even more impressive is the legislative impact; the Beagle Freedom Bill, which mandates the release of lab animals for adoption, is now enacted in 13 states. Shannon shares the incredible journey of these rescued animals, the challenges of advocacy, and the profound human-animal bond. Join us as Shannon discusses how beagles adjust to new homes, the significance of their docile nature in labs, and her groundbreaking efforts to shut down a private testing facility in Oklahoma. This episode is a testament to the difference one person can make and the enduring power of compassion. Welcome, Shannon! Let's dive into your incredible work and hear some heartwarming rescue stories. Do beagles truly adapt to loving homes after such a traumatic start? Listen in to find out how these resilient animals find their way to a new life of love and care. https://bfp.org/ Support our sponsor for this episode Blue Buffalo by visiting bluebuffalo.com.
