She affirms the words of her great ancestor, Anna Julia Cooper, “The cause of freedom is not the cause of a race or a sect, a party or a class - it is the cause of humankind, the very birthright of humanity.” Joquina is deeply shaped by her lived experience, ancestral wisdom, and formal undergraduate and graduate education in Communications. She is also the curator behind the Please Say Black and Divesting from Whiteness podcasts.
