Description
There’s been a lot of talk about the Albanese Government’s Future Made in Australia policy since it was unveiled in the Budget. Put simply, it’s the government’s roadmap to turn us into a “renewables superpower” - but not everyone’s convinced. So as we head towards an election dominated by the energy debate, in this Squiz Shortcut, we look at what the Future Made in Australia policy is, how it’ll work, and why everyone’s talking about critical minerals. Squiz recommends: Listening: An ABC News Daily podcast called Can Australia Really Afford to Make Stuff? which gives a good insight into some of the challenges the government might face with its Future Made in Australia plan. It’s a 15 minute listen, you know we love a short form podcast, but it lays out what the government is planning, and looks at whether they can pull it off.  Reading: An article published in The Conversation called: “Critical minerals for the world – or just for the US? Turning Australia into a green minerals powerhouse comes with risks” which gives a good summary of Australia’s predicament when it comes to critical minerals. Want the email version?
