I've been a subsriber of S&A "Alliance" since it launched, and the podcast since it launch. Porter and his guests deliver very valueable investment advice (for free) in a entertaining manner. Higly recommended !!
I think Porter is just being himself, a very pleasant and down to earth guy. Porter clearly has a very good sense of humor as well, I love the comments he makes. Porter, you often have me chuckling. The advice that I got from the S&A newsletters (and S&A digest) has influenced my investment decisions and my lifestyle for the better. I'm a South African born British citizen, and I live in South Africa, one of the corrupt countries that S&A would consider a looney place (and I agree). Government here is so stupid and obviously corrupt that one just can't make the ruling Elite's socialist/populist boondoggles and corruption up. The voting sheep will keep voting for the (the ruling ANC) politicians that are robbing them (the voting masses) blind.
I also listen to Peter Schiff's podcast.
BTW, the (former 1-horse) town where I live in is experiencing an economic boom, compareable to the small rural oil towns in NW-USA. Infrastructure creaking, more interlinked horse-trailers in town than cars, no rental properties available or, if available prices are exuburant. At least everyone is making money here, thanks to the massive open cast coal deposit and possibilty of fracking.
