Picard After-Show
I think the host is good, & knows his stuff well. However, he & the panelists often seem to be judging the program on what they want it to be, rather than what it is. The showrunners have said that Picard is meant to be slower, & that it is not a reboot of TNG. It is taking its time setting up this world & these people in it. There is quite a lot going on in the details. I don’t think the Aftershow participants here are giving the program near enough credit for what it is successfully doing with both world-building & characterization. More plot movement may come later, but we need to understand this new setting & its people first. Also, Picard is serialized, & many things unexplained now, may be made clear later. Nitpicking, grousing, & complaining doesn’t make a fun experience for me. If the participants don’t enjoy this program, that’s fine. Perhaps some who do can join up as counterpoints. I’m very disappointed. Aftershows are some of my favorite podcasts in other programming. I’m hoping for much better from this one in the future. Thank you.

I would give it 5 stars but putting out each episode a week late is super annoying.

The hosts don’t believe in the show or seem to understand the concept of serialized television. They need to spend less time nitpicking about why Picard isn’t written, staged, and produced like a 90’s TV show, and focus on the great storytelling that is taking place.

Nice that you’ve caught up, but too much of that one guy talking non stop.
