When Should Dawn Die?
I was profoundly disappointed to hear Dawn and Ken casually dismiss the idea of life extension in episode 118. I would expect that kind of narrow status quo thinking from the general public, but not from researchers on the cutting-edge of human enhancement. It is especially galling to witness this heartbreaking lack of imagination during a discussion of potential cures for the diseases of aging. If death is so wonderful, then why even try to postpone it? Ken, you may be looking forward to a standard lifespan, but would you impose that on your younger co-host? At what age do you want Dawn to die?
