“Listened to an episode on βStigma, Discrimination, Recovery, and Politicsβ. Enjoyed the episode with Ryan Hampton! His recovery story is amazing. How he was able to bounce back from life on the streets afflicted with addiction. Was truly inspired listening to his transformation. I learned as well that shame keeps us from talking about our struggles. Often it takes a drastic turn to truly change. It can be hard when no one seems to care.
I like that you allow the interview to flow naturally. Letting people pour out their story. Had no idea that over 45 million Americans were in recovery. Got so much from this episode. Makes me want to research more on the addiction crisis. I also learned that bias influences belief. There are people dying in the process of asking for help. The way we see others affects the way we treat them. There is hope for the future if we change the way we view people with addiction.
Great podcast! Recommend to anyone interested in mental health, addiction, and how it affects others lives.”
