A Missed Opportunity
I was so excited to hear about this podcast. The music nerd/Thriller fan in me, was ready to consume every detail from the musicians, engineers and producers. Instead, we get these micro uploads—which barely discuss anything of value. It’s incredibly frustrating to get these 10-15min segments which have maybe 2-5 mins of actual discussion about the album. The entire premise of the podcast is that we, the listener, get some unique insight on how the proverbial sausage was made on the best selling album of all time. Instead, we get irrelevant conversations about MJ’s animals, or continual back-slapping. I will never understand the editorial decision to upload nuggets of what are clearly longer conversations. Perhaps a proper full-length documentary of these interviews will be released. Clearly they are pandering to a Tik Tok/Instagram audience. But it comes at a disservice to this iconic album.
