Hi everyone! I can't believe that I've reached the milestone of 50 episodes!! I cannot thank you, my listeners and followers enough for all your support since the podcast launched in October 2020. This episode and (the second part episode that follows) consists of a unit of learning for 10-11year olds that I have developed for the Education Authority that I work for. While it is still pending approval, I thought I'd share it with you, my listeners as I know that many of you who listen regularly are also in the educational field. For many years we have all been involved in conversations where we have collectively discussed and implemented different approaches to ensuring that history in our schools is taught from a more globally diverse and balanced perspective. Enabling learners from all walks of life to make connections through the use of concrete examples, real life experience and also to develop an understanding that History is a past, present and future that we all share. As well as my poetic narratives, this unit of learning which I have called 'Let's Go for a Walk' is one of many interpretations of how learning about our past could be presented and delivered.
