As Britain enters into a period of recession Tracy shares her own understanding and some of her reflections on how conservative party ideals have influenced attitudes toward Britain’s empire and through party politics, shaped Britain’s international and domestic policies in relation to it. Tracy also asks to what extent has the cause and effect of past events and decision making determined and defined the repercussions which now effect Britain’s current economic challenges.
