Description
Kevin Michael Connolly was born without legs in Helena, Montana. Apart from that, he grew up like any other kid and in 2005 he began skateboarding and taking photographs. After studying in New Zealand for a year, Connolly continued his travels in Europe where - skating down a backstreet in Vienna - he took the first photo for what was to become The Rolling Exhibition, 33,000 photos documenting the stares and reactions his activities have generated around the world. His photography has been featured in the Smithsonian Institution, the Kennedy Center, and universities across the U.S. and around the world. Kevin's desire for adventure is featured in Travel Channel’s new original series, Armed & Ready, where he creates new rigs to travel anywhere, conquer anything, and push the limits of the world around him. At the age of 23, the young man began work on his memoir, Double Take (Harper Collins 2010), which chronicles his early life and journeys working on The Rolling Exhibition.  The book has garnered rave reviews and is being developed into a feature film by Groundswell Productions. Connolly has a Bachelor of Arts in media and theatre arts from Montana State University and currently resides in Bozeman, where he spends his free time skiing, hiking and general adventuring. His explorations have netted him a broken jaw, a couple dozen stitches and two X-Games medals. He serves on the board for the Montana Independent Living Project, and is actively involved with multiple other disabled nonprofit organizations.
