Trevor McShane/Neville Johnson - Singer/Power Attorney
Listen now
Description
Neville L. Johnson has a fascinating identity crisis. A founding partner of the Beverly Hills based “boutique firm” of Johnson & Johnson LLP, Johnson - selected as one of the top 100 Power Lawyers in entertainment law by the Hollywood Reporter five years running - fights for the rights of artists including Nancy Sinatra, Beach Boys, Fleetwood Mac, The Moody Blues, Mitch Ryder, Christopher Cross, the Academy of Country Music, The Motels, Jane’s Addiction, The Temptations, and the heirs of Rick Nelson, Buddy Holly, and John Lennon. But when Johnson picks up his beloved guitar, soon he fully embodies his alter ego, earthy roots rocker Trevor McShane, as displayed on his dynamic new Evolution of Cool album. The 12-track collection features eight original McShane songs and four compelling cover tunes that reflect the scope of the singer/songwriter’s development since he started performing in the early '90s, including his wistful spin on “Beyond The Sea,” a fresh version of Charlie Rich’s Sun Records-era classic “Lonely Weekends,” a spunky duet with emerging singer/songwriter Jes Hudak (“We Just Met”), and an appearance by legendary Detroit rocker Mitch Ryder on the closing track “Mitch’s Advice.” Ryder will be joining us for a bit on the show! Attorney Johnson is currently representing the plaintiffs the class action digital download suits against record companies, and recently successfully helmed class actions against the entertainment unions, Screen Actors Guild, Directors Guild of America, and Writers Guild of America to ensure talent in those areas were getting paid what they were due from foreign income.
