Description
My guest this week is Edward Chisholm whose debut novel “A Waiter in Paris: Adventures in the Dark Heart of the City” has received international recognition. It was named Book of the Week by the Daily Mail and one of the Best Books of 2022 by the New York Post. “A Waiter in Paris” is based on Edward’s time as, well, a waiter in Paris, a job he threw himself into when he found himself alone, nearly penniless, and speaking only the most rudimentary French. It’s a look into the seedy underbelly of a city so often viewed through rose-colored glasses. In our conversation, Edward discusses heightened senses, friends and foes in the waiting staff, whether Parisian waiters are rude on purpose, and so much more. Then, he treats us to a reading from “A Waiter in Paris: Adventures in the Dark Heart of the City.” https://www.instagram.com/edward_chisholm_/ https://twitter.com/ChisholmEdward https://www.edwardchisholm.com Join our Book Club: patreon.com/parisundergroundradio Find Us Online Website: https://www.parisundergroundradio.com/storytimeinparis Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/parisundergroundradio Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/parisundergroundradio/ Credits Host and Producer: Jennifer Geraghty. The Storytime in Paris podcast will help keep this tradition alive with short interviews and readings from your favorite contemporary authors with a French connection. Every episode will feature five questions, asked by you, our authors' biggest fans, and answered live on air. Then, our authors will treat us to a reading of an excerpt from their book. Who knows? Maybe you'll even be inspired to write your own Great French Novel. Happy listening!
