Ep. 69 - Donald Lystra, “Searching for Van Gogh”
Listen now
Description
My guest this week is award-winning author Donald Lystra. Donald’s latest novel, “Searching for Van Gogh,” is a coming-of-age story, told from the perspective of Nate, against the backdrop of 1963 Michigan. Nate has lived a relatively sheltered life, but recent events have thrust him from his bubble and he's learning that there's more to the world than what he'd been brought up around. He meets Audrey who, for better or worse, sees the colors in the world that Nate's eyes have not been open to. She's an unlikely mentor and a perfect shepherd for Nate. You know the feeling when you first wake up in a bright room and you have to sort of blink to get your eyes to adjust? The book unfolds a bit like that. http://www.donaldlystra.com/ https://www.facebook.com/donaldlystraauthor Join us on Patreon: patreon.com/parisundergroundradio Find Us Online Website: https://www.parisundergroundradio.com/storytimeinparis Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/parisundergroundradio Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/parisundergroundradio/ Credits Host and Producer: Jennifer Geraghty. The Storytime in Paris podcast will help keep this tradition alive with short interviews and readings from your favorite contemporary authors with a French connection.   Every episode will feature five questions, asked by you, our authors' biggest fans, and answered live on air. Then, our authors will treat us to a reading of an excerpt from their book. Who knows? Maybe you'll even be inspired to write your own Great French Novel. Happy listening!
