“Matt is a good host, but the analysis and opinions on matches and players generally rely on tropes and old, outdated ideas of player performance/positioning (Thiago Silva is bad now, guys, and has been for a while). Neither Liam nor Simon actually ask anything remotely profound or interesting of Pochetino in Chelsea press conferences, so there’s usually nothing of substance to discuss. I find myself annoyed part way through any episode I try to listen to and tend to shut it off early. The Athletic content in general has gotten worse over the past few years.”
