Riveting Quest for the Truth
I just listened to “The Origin of COVID 19, Episode 4: The China Cover-Up.” Through in-depth and pinpoint research, analysis, and commentary, Dr. Frank Sweeny pokes so many holes in the Wuhan wet market COVID origin theory that it can no longer hold even a drop of water. This podcast episode is a riveting quest for the truth, skillfully weaving in relevant clips and well-supported by background music and sound effects. Dr. Sweeny makes a compelling and quite convincing case that the virus emerged from a Wuhan lab leak, and that Chinese officials desperately and rather ruthlessly attempted to cover it up. He lays out the abundant evidence that Chinese officials aggressively pushed a hopeless narrative that the virus was not spreading person-to-person, mainly so that pre-planned Chinese New Year’s celebrations, worth millions, could go forward. At the end, Dr. Sweeny admonishes us to trust science, but not to trust scientists. I would mostly agree but only add that the kind of scientist not to be trusted is one whose independence and commitment to the truth has been compromised by ulterior motives, financial incentives, or a cozy relationship with industry or government officials. Very thought-provoking podcast!
