For decades, the specialty of sports medicine has been predominantly male, but like many areas of medicine, that is changing. In this episode, Dr. Jill Moschelli talks about being a woman in sports medicine. While in her Family Medicine residency, Dr. Moschelli, who is also an athlete, discovered her passion for treating athletes dealing with musculoskeletal injuries along with addressing their primary care needs.  Dr. Jill shares how it is important for athletes to have a choice when it comes to their healthcare provider and provides practical advice for preparing for a doctor's appointment.   About Our Guest: Jill Moschelli, MD, MBA, CAQ-SM, FAAFP, FACSM is the MSU Health Care Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Center Clinical Director and has been providing care at MSU Health Care since 2019. After earning her medical degree at the St. Matthews University Medical School in Grand Cayman, Moschelli completed her family medicine residency at Wayne State University School of Medicine in Rochester, MI. She then continued on to a fellowship in sports medicine through the Dartmouth-Maine Family Medicine Residency program in August, ME. Moschelli is also the program director of the Sparrow/MSU Sports Medicine Fellowship and team physician for Michigan State University Athletics.
